In conjunction with the 6th anniversary of the death of Teoh Beng Hock, the Teoh Beng Hock Trust for Democracy (TBHTD) smoothly organized 4 events commencing in July.

1) “I want Justice for Beng Hock” Postcard Campaign

Postcards to demand justice for Teoh Beng Hock

“I want Justice for Beng Hock” postcards were sold at a very affordable price. The caring citizens simply needed to send the postcards to the Home Ministry to demand a fresh, comprehensive and complete investigation on the unforeseen death of the late Teoh Beng Hock that shocked Malaysian.

 

2) ‘Jatuh’ Film Screening and Discussion session

We held the ‘Jatuh’ short documentary on Teoh Beng Hock at Restoran Ramai in Puchong on 14 July 2015. Various guest speakers such as the Mr Ng Sze Han (Kinrara State Assemblyman), Ms Wong Siew Ki (Director of Jatuh), Mama Bersih member shared their comments, and Ms Teoh Lee Lan (Sister of the late Beng Hock) delivered a touching review.

3) Park Memorial


Teoh Lee Lan and her family remain strong in
the journey to seek justice for Teoh Beng Hock.

On 25th July 2015, we held the first outdoor memorial event by Teoh Beng Hock Trust for Democracy that narrow down to the community of Puchong.  The memorial programs consisted of a moment of silence, singing session, poetry recitation and tree planting. Kinrara State Assemblyman Mr Ng Szhe Han, Puchong parliamentarian Gobin Singh, Ms Teoh Lee Lan addressed their speeches respectively.

(4) Earth Citizen Youth Camp (conducted in Mandarin Language)

A team of dynamic global citizen.

Our educational arm Democracy Academy of Malaysia, conducted a one day Earth Citizen Youth Camp in Puchong, Selangor on 9 August 2015. Contents covered the climate change, garbage sorting, an integrative approach to introduce the concepts of global citizen and environmental policies, the role and operation of administrative departments (focused on local government). The camp hopes to inspire participants the multiple approaches to protect the earth we are living in.

(5)   Adjunctive activities: I want justice for Beng Hock campaign

We have been collaborating with local communities from every corners in the country, with people who would like to engage in our anniversary programs. We have held a few related events randomly nationwide such as Mentakab, to name a few.
